WELCOME TO OUR TOWN
LLANO TEXAS
"The Way Texas Used To Be"

LLano is centrally located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country and is a favorite destination for Texans looking for a relaxing weekend getaway as well as national and international tourists seeking a real "Texas" experience.  Llano was established in 1856 on the banks of the Llano river the most pristine river in Texas today.  All of Llano's downtown district is on the National Historic Registry giving visitors a sense of stepping back in time as they experience the way Texas used to be.
Llano was the last train stop before pioneers started their journeys westward.  Leaving behind the railroad hotels, numerous bars, and bawdy houses travellers didn't have to go far to meet up with their first challenge....Indian territory.  The history of Llano is filled with stories of Indian raids and skirmishes.  In it's heyday Llano was the place to come party for the social elite of Austin as well as officers and their ladies from Fort Hood and other posts.  But boon turned into bust leaving Llano with more saloons and dancehalls than churches.  Tales of gunfights on the streets are still talked about today.
Today Llano is filled with unique shops and fine restaurants catering to every taste.  Springtime brings the wildflowers and visitors flock to see nature in all her glory.  Llano is also known as "The Deer Capital of Texas" with the population swelling during each deer season by those looking to bag a trophy buck white tail deer.  For the fishing enthusiasts nearby Lake Buchanan, Lake LBJ, and the Llano river offers bass, crappie, catfish, and even trout in the river.  And if that wasn't enough prospectors from all over come to try their luck at gold panning in the Llano....Yep there's gold
There's something for everyone in Llano.  Our greatest asset though is our people.  There's a saying in Llano that goes "Come for a visit but leave as a member of our family."  Llano folks are some of the friendliest people you will ever have the pleasure to meet.  So click on the links below for a quick visit then come see us.  We'll be waiting!
